Belthangady: Theft in house,valuables worth Rs 1.35 lakh stolen; Accused held

Belthangady: The police officials arrested a 37-year-old man in a Rs 1.35 lakh theft case reported from the house of a Ujire resident.

The arrested accused has been identified as Imtiaz (37), son of B Shekhabba, resident of Chinnigudde House, Mundaje village, Beltnagady.

The complainant, Sulaiman said that the theft happend after he left home to go to Bhadaravathi on January 22 morning. He returned on January 23 night and found that his two-wheeler and valaubles kept inside the house were missing .

He said that Rs 60,000 placed inside an almirah and gold ornaments, totally valued at Rs 1,35,100 have been stolen.

Police official have recovered valaubles worth Rs 78,000 including Rs 3,500 in cash, a pair of ear studs, two rings and a two wheeler from the accused.
