Sugarcane juice is extremely nourishing and packed with many healthy benefits, however, almost none of the companies in India offer packaged sugarcane juice. Primary reason for this being that not only is India one of the world’s largest producers of sugarcane but it is easily available across the country with Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh being the top sugarcane producing states.

Sugarcane juice is linked to many health benefits from being rich in antioxidants that help fight infections to being rich in iron, calcium, magnesium and other electrolytes that are great for dehydration.

1) Sugarcane juice works as a diuretic

It helps  to treat urinary tract infections, kidney stones and ensures proper functioning of the kidneys.

2) Sugarcane juice is used in treatment of jaundice

Sugarcane juice helps strengthen liver and thus used as a remedy for jaundice. It replenishes the body with proteins lost and nutrients which need to recover quickly.

3) Rich in carbohydrates, protein, iron, potassium and other essential nutrients
Sugarcane juice builds up plasma and body fluids, helping in counter dryness and fatigue.
4) Has low Glycemic Index (GI)
It is highly recommended for diabetics as it has low GI. Studies reveal that drinking sugarcane doesn’t alter blood glucose levels drastically but one must check with their doctor first.
