Bengaluru: 2 injured in mysterious blast at house

Bengaluru: Two people were injured after a mysterious explosion at a house in Hampinagar in Vijayanagar here late in the night on Sunday.

The blast took place on the first floor of a two-storey building at around 12:45 am.

A couple, Suryanarayan Shetty and Pushpavathamma, living in the house were injured in the incident. Both of them have been admitted to the hospital and are being treated.

Fixtures, furniture and other items in the house were scattered by the blast.

The blast impact broke the window glasses of more than 5 adjoining houses and even cracked walls.

A power line in front of the house was also cut.

The explosion was heard for about 1 kilometre.

Vijayanagar police station officials are currently visiting and inspecting the site.
