Bengaluru: 20-yr-old woman marries 17-yr-old boy she met on Facebook, booked

Bengaluru: A 20-year-old woman from Bengaluru was booked under the Child Marriage Act after she allegedly married a 17-year-old boy she met on Facebook.
The accused woman is a BSC nursing student and the boy hails from a village in Chikkamagaluru district.
The boy had claimed to be 21 years old and the marriage was solemnized in front of the boy’s relatives. A local resident alerted the child helpline, following which officials from the women and child welfare department came to the village for conducting inquiries.
The boy’s relatives have also been booked and the couple is living separately.
