Bengaluru: 21-year-old college student crushed under BMTC bus

Bengaluru: In a road accident, a bike-borne youth was crushed under the wheels of a BMTC bus on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Vishwanath (21), a student at a college in Basaveshwar Nagar, North Bengaluru.  The accident occured near the LuLu Hypermarket on Vatal Nagaraj Road in Okalipuram, central Bengaluru, reports said.

The victim was ostensibly riding his bike in a zig-zag manner when his two-wheeler came under the wheels of the BMTC bus, a DHNS report quoted Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic-West) Kuldeep Kumar Jain as saying.

His family background has not been traced. “We are waiting for his immediate family members to arrive in the city to get a complete picture of his background,” a traffic police officer said.
