Bengaluru: A 24-year-old youth ended up injuring himself while successfully thwarting a suicide bid by his friend at Gurappanapalya in South Bengaluru here.
The injured Firoz was hospitalized for the bullet injury he sustained to his right hand while saving his friend Salman.
On Sunday night Salman and Feroz were hanging out with friends. When Salman returned home along with Feroz, the former’s brother allegedly shouted at him for coming home late every night.
Salman got infuriated at this and a verbal altercation took place between the two. In a fit of rage, Salman went to his brother’s bedroom, took his licensed pistol, and tried to shoot himself. However, Firoz intervened and tried to snatch the gun from his hand.
In the chaos that followed, Salman pulled the trigger and the bullet gashed Firoz’s right hand.
The jurisdictional Suddaguntepalya police registered a case.
