Bengaluru: 3 IT firm employees arrested for stealing 1,070 laptops

Bengaluru: Police officials have arrested three IT firm employees for allegedly stealing 1,070 laptops from the office worth over Rs 32 lakh.

The accused have been identified as Jagadish TS of Chikkatogur, Suresh KM of Devarachikkanahalli and Lokesh C of Indiranagar,  all working as service assistants at the firm.

The theft came to light on October 15 when the security supervisor noticed 10 laptops kept inside the electrical chamber of the firm.

Later, during an inter-departmental inquiry, it was found that three suspected employees have stolen 1070 laptops between mid-2020 and October 2021.

It is said that the accused would sneak into the storeroom, switch off CCTV cameras and walk away with the laptops.

A police complaint was lodged and the accused was booked under IPC section 381.
