Bengaluru: 5-year-old girl drowns in water sump while playing

A 5-year-old girl named Saida lost her life after falling into an open water sump while playing in front of her house under Bagalgunte police station limits.

Saida, the fourth child of Syed Hussain, a resident of Bagalgunte, met with the unfortunate accident on Wednesday around 5 pm. While the family was having dinner, Saida ventured out to play and accidentally fell into the open sump in front of the house, leading to drowning.

Syed Hussain immediately launched a search when he noticed Saida missing. Upon discovering her in the sump, the family rushed her to a nearby private hospital. Despite efforts, the child succumbed to the incident later that night.

The Bagalgunte police have registered a case.
