Bengaluru: Actor Darshan, who is in judicial custody in connection with the Renukacharya murder case, has withdrawn his plea seeking home-cooked food, clothes, and other amenities from the High Court.
Darshan’s lawyers filed a memo questioning the trial court’s order rejecting his application. Justice Hemant Chandangoudar’s single-judge bench permitted the withdrawal of the plea.
Recently, the High Court had suggested that Darshan approach the trial court before hearing the application. Subsequently, he filed a plea for home-cooked meals and bedding. On July 25, the magistrate court dismissed his application, stating that as an accused in a murder case, Darshan was not entitled to the requested relief. The application mentioned that Darshan was suffering from stomach pain and diarrhea.
Darshan was arrested on June 11 and was remanded to judicial custody on June 22.
