COVID-19: Actor Shivarajkumar to be the voice of Sandalwood!

Bengaluru: Sandalwood actor Shivarajkumar has been selected to lead the delegation Producers and directors to meet the Chief Minister for the betterment of the industry, as it has been badly hit by the coronavirus pandemic and is in dire need of a revival.
Producers and directors, including Kannada Film Producers’ Association office bearers, met the actor at his residence and requested him to lead the delegation. They also decided to set up a program in consultation with the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce.
After the demise of several iconic Sandalwood stars like Dr Rajkumar, Dr Vishnuvardhan, and Rebel Star Ambareesh, the situation in the industry has reportedly deteriorated. Hence there are attempts to request Shivanna to be the leader of Sandalwood and replace the position held by these veteran Kannada actors.
The team that met Shivarajkumar include, Sara Govind, producers union president Praveen Kumar, KCN Chandrashekar, KP Srikanth, Karthik Gowda, Jayanna, Umapathi (trade union president), KV Chandrashekar, the proprietor of Veeresh Theatre, Ashok who’s the president of Labour Union, Actor Sadhu Kokila, Director Rajendra Singh Babu, music director Gurukiran.
It may be recalled that the State and Central government had announced many financial relief packages to several other industries but had refrained from announcing any package for the benefit of the Kannada film industry.
