Bengaluru: Amid the easing of COVID-19 curbs in Bengaluru, pollution level in the city is back to pre-pandemic levels in 2019, data has indicated.
Karnataka State Pollution Control Board data has shown that AQI during the lockdown improved by 35.26% as compared to regular days.
A technical official from KSPCB said, “While most people believe that traffic is the biggest source of pollution in Bengaluru, other activities like construction, destruction and the dust that rises with traffic is a huge problem that impacts AQI.”
Data from environment startup Ambee said that the AQI has climbed from 60 (during lockdown) to 87.
