Bengaluru: Husband of a former BBMP member, Laggere Narayanaswamy, has lodged a police complaint against MLA Munirathna, accusing him of honey-trapping their family and making murder attempts.
Based on Narayanaswamy’s complaint, a case has been registered at Nandini Layout Police Station against Munirathna and his associates, including Sunandamma Venkatesh, Lakshmamma, Jayamma, and Latha.
In the complaint, Narayanaswamy alleged that MLA Munirathna and his supporters have been harassing him and his wife for the past eight years. He claimed they conspired to record private videos of the couple, filed false cases against him, and labelled him a rowdy sheeter to intimidate them. He further accused them of multiple attempts to murder him and his wife.
Narayanaswamy detailed an incident when he and his wife were en route to Kadiri Narasimhaswamy Temple, where an alleged plot to kill them was hatched. He claimed that the then-Youth Congress president Santosh Siddhegowda was appointed to execute the plan. According to Narayanaswamy, Santosh’s father, Siddhegowda, confronted Munirathna and warned him not to involve his son in such acts.
The complaint also referred to a “false case” filed against Narayanaswamy in December 2013, which led to his imprisonment. He alleged that police personnel, acting under the MLA’s directions, assaulted him and stripped him during custody. Narayanaswamy has demanded a thorough investigation into these allegations.
