Bengaluru: The check-in baggage belt failed at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport on Sunday.
Many passengers took to Twitter to express their anguish. Author Amish Tripathi tweeted, “Very poor service by Indigo and Bengaluru airport. Our team was traveling from Bangalore to Pragyaraj for a shoot and 2 of our bags have been lost. No proper answers, no solutions offered.”
India’s largest airline IndiGo released a statement for the same, saying that its flights from the city have been delayed and they are working with the airport to solve the issue.
“Owing to the check-in baggage belt failure at Kempegowda International Airport, our flights from Bengaluru are facing delays,” the statement issued by IndiGo said.
The failure of the baggage belt reportedly lasted for about 15 minutes. BIAL Spokesperson said, “On Sunday, the baggage system at Bengaluru Airport failed for a short while but stabilized within a few minutes.”
IndiGo said, “We are also working with BIAL (Bangalore International Airport Limited) to resolve this issue. We regret the inconvenience caused to our passengers.”
