Bengaluru: A 46-year-old cabbie and his two sons have been arrested in connection with a kidnapping case here.
The victim, Pavan T, 21, was abducted from his residence on March 6 evening when his mother Shanta was visiting her hometown. A friend of Pawan, who lives in the neighbourhood alerted his mother about the incident. However, when she called on Pawan’s phone his abductors answered the call and instructed her to get Rs 7 lakh to ensure her son’s safety.
As the abductors — G Ravi and his two sons R Madesha (24) and R Srinivasa (21) were answering Shanta’s calls, the police managed to trace and arrest them, within 12 hours of the complaint, by tracking these phone calls.
The abductor G Ravi was a family friend of the abducted youth. He was aware of the fact that Shanta had inherited her husband’s money after his death and had even managed to secure a Rs 10 lakh loan to start a business.
