Bengaluru: De-addiction centre head held for drug peddling

In a shocking case, a man heading a drug deaddiction & rehabilitation centre has been arrested by the police on charges of peddling drugs.
Based on reliable information, Girinagar police arrested the accused Suhas Gowda (32) from near a college in Hosakerehalli and seized 11 grams of MDMA and 3.5 grams of ecstasy from his possession. He has been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
During the police investigation, it was found that Gowda was running a deaddiction & rehabilitation centre named ‘Poorna Pragnya Foundation’ for alcoholics and drug addicts in Kengeri.
It is gathered that Gowda was addicted to drugs for six years and had undergone treatment at Poorna Pragnya Foundation. During his time at the deaddiction centre he became acquainted with the owner. Following the treatment, Gowda expressed interest in investing money in the centre. For the last 2-3 years he has been heading the de-addiction centre.
Reportedly Gowda’s father died a few months ago and he began doing drugs again. Meanwhile, he also started peddling drugs to patients at the centre. He had been peddling drugs in Mysuru for last six months police said.
