Bengaluru: Driver runs over puppy, FIR filed

Bengaluru: A shocking incident of animal cruelty has come to light in Talaghattapura police limits, where a driver allegedly ran his car over a four-month-old puppy sleeping on a street. The incident, which occurred on December 31, surfaced recently.
Based on a complaint filed by Anirudh, a member of the Karnataka Animal Welfare Board, an FIR has been registered against the accused driver, identified as Manjunath. The incident took place at Shekhar Layout, 8th Phase, JP Nagar, around 4:30 PM.
The CCTV footage near the scene captured the driver deliberately running the car over the puppy sleeping on the road. The video has since gone viral on social media, sparking outrage among netizens. People have demanded strict legal action against the driver for his inhumane act.
What Happened?
Three puppies were resting near the road, with one lying on the street and the other two near a house. The accused, Manjunath, allegedly ran his car over the puppy lying on the road, crushing it under the wheels. The puppy succumbed to its injuries on the spot.
Netizens have condemned the driver for his deliberate act and lack of humanity. Following the complaint by Anirudh, police have issued a notice to the accused, and an investigation is underway.
