Bengaluru: The Covid-19 vaccination dry run at three primary health centers in Bengaluru from 9 am to 11 am on Saturday, January 2 was a successful one with 25 beneficiaries participating in the mock drill at each PHC.

Reportedly, the registration room of Kamakshipalya PHC in the west zone of BBMP brimmed with the mock drill beneficiaries including the ASHA workers and Anganwadi workers of the area.

Upon arrival, details of the beneficiaries were verified against a list and then they were given hand sanitizers and their body temperature was checked.
Following this, they were sent to the waiting room. The waiting room only had five to six people at a time, awaiting their turn to be ‘vaccinated’.

After the vaccination, the beneficiaries were kept in the Adverse Event Following Immunisation (AEFI) observation room for half an hour and thereafter sent home.

The state government had decided to conduct the dry run for COVID-19 vaccination in five districts-Bengaluru, Mysuru, Belagavi, Shivamogga, and Kalaburagi.

The statement read, “In each district, three-session sites (one each at district, taluk, and primary health center levels) are chosen for the dry run. After the dry run, feedback will be collected from those session sites of each district”
