Bengaluru: A former employee allegedly kidnapped the shop owner’s 3-year-old daughter at Basavanagudi. Police said the child had been found with her mother, who was estranged from her husband.

Banashnakari Police said they received a complaint from Shafiullah, that his child was adducted by Wasim, a former employee at the shop.

Police said the child’s mother and Shfiuallah had divorced. Shafiuallah, who runs a furniture store, lives in Banashankari with his daughter. The estranged wife lived elsewhere.

Meanwhile, on December 28, Wasim, who had quit his job at the furniture store, returned to Shafiullah asking for a job. Shafiuallah agreed. On the same day, at around 3 pm, Wasim abducted the child when Shafiuallah had gone out on an errand.

Police, during their investigation, found that Wasim had handed the girl to Shafiuallah’s ex-wife. When questioned, the woman told police she also had the right to be with her child.

Police are continuing their investigation.
