Bengaluru: Fake marks card racket busted

Bengaluru: A racket of fake marks card was nabbed by the Central Crime branch (CCB) and two men were arrested for giving away fake marks cards and degree certificates of reputed colleges and universities across the country.
The accused has been identified as Srinivasa Reddy and his assistant Sunil Kumar. They both are residents of Mahalaxmi Layout. They were running this racket through Venkateshwara Instituite of Educational Society.
The accused claimed that they have an association with reputed colleges and universities and they offered fake under graduation and Post graduation degree marks cards for the ones opting distance courses. They are said to issue fake Ph. D. Certificates to candidates. They set prices for the marks card depending on the institution the candidates chose, ranging from Rs.30,000 to Rs.2 lakh. They would issue marks cards to the candidates without conducting any kind of examinations or classes.
The CCB officials have recovered more than 15,000 fake marks cards and certificates from the accused. They have also seized a computer, printers and seals of various institutions.
The accused have confessed to the police that they have been running this racket for the past several years and had been arrested twice by the police earlier. They would obtain bail and then continue their activities of offering fake degree certificates and marks cards to the candidates of other states. The police suspect thousands of candidates got certificates from the accused and have taken up jobs in many companies.
