Bengaluru: Father shoots, kills son over money matter

Police have arrested a man for allegedly shooting his son dead following an argument over money in Bengaluru.

The deceased has been identified as Narthan Bopanna (32), a resident of Karekalmane near the Kamakshipalya locality and the arrested accused is Suresh.

The incident is said to have taken place on Thursday afternoon.

Police said that Suresh, who is an alcoholic had picked up a quarrel with Narthan over a money-related issue. Later in a fit of rage, he shot at Narthan using a rifle.

Neighbours alerted the police on hearing the commotion. When the police arrived at the scene, they found Narthan lying in a pool of blood. He was rushed to a hospital, but he succumbed to his bullet wound at a private hospital.

The police have taken Suresh into custody and are interrogating him.
