Bengaluru: Gang of thieves attack truck, loot mobile phones worth Rs 15 crore

Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, robbers stopped a container truck moving towards Mumbai from Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu, near Hosur on national highway on Wednesday, Oct 21.
It is said that Mobile phones manufactured by MI mobiles at its manufacturing unit at Sriperumbudur were being transported to Mumbai. The robbers looted mobile phones worth about Rs 15 crore
Sources claim, Around 2 am, robbers blocked the lorry in a deserted area and beat up the lorry driver Arun, and his assistant Kumar. They dragged them away into the forest and tied them up to trees.
Later, they drove the lorry and set up a placard indicating that the lorry had developed problems. The gang emptied the goods and abandoned the truck on a highway.
It is said that a passerby heard people shouting from inside the forest and contacted the police. Police started an investigation and collected fingerprint evidence from the abandoned vehicle.
