Bengaluru: Police officials have arrested two persons in Bengaluru for their alleged involvement in an inter-State drug racket. Around 1 quintal of ganja worth Rs 30 lakh was seized.

The arrested accused have been identified as Ananthu (29), a resident of Panayampadam, Kerala, and Babu (40), a resident of Nandipulam.

They had purchased ganja for Rs 8000 per kg from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and were planning to sell for Rs 30,000-50,000 per kg in Bengaluru.

The accused used to park their Omni in a hilly area near Vishakhapatnam. They then called the local dealers after leaving the money in their car to purchase marijuana.

The local dealers would arrive at the spot, take the money and fill the car with ganja.  Once the deal is done, the local dealers do not contact the accused.

The next day, the accused would return to the spot where they had parked their vehicle and drive to Bengaluru to sell the ganja.

Banaswadi police officials received tip-off regarding the Omni being parked near HBR Layout. Cops who arrived at the spot arrested the accused.
