Bengaluru-Karwar special train announced for Deepavali festival rush

Bengaluru: In view of the upcoming Deepavali festival and the expected surge in passenger traffic, South Western Railway has announced a special train service between Bengaluru and Karwar. This decision aims to ease travel for passengers during the festive season.
The special train, Train No. 06597 Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru – Karwar Express, will depart from Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal in Bengaluru at 1:00 PM on October 30, 2024 (Wednesday). The train will reach Karwar at 4:00 AM the following day.
In the return direction, Train No. 06598 Karwar – Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru Express will depart from Karwar at 12:00 PM on October 31, 2024 (Thursday) and will reach Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal, Bengaluru, at 4:00 AM the next day.
The train will halt at several major stations, including Chikbanavar, Kunigal, Channarayapatna, Hassan, Sakleshpur, Subrahmanya Road, Kabaka Puttur, Bantwal, Surathkal, Mulki, Udupi, Barkur, Kundapura, Mookambika Road Byndoor, Bhatkal, Murdeshwar, Honnavar, Kumta, Gokarna Road, and Ankola.
The train will comprise 18 coaches in total, including:2 AC 3-Tier Coaches, 10 Sleeper Class Coaches, 4 General Class Coaches, and 2 SLR (Seating-cum-Luggage Rake) Coaches
This special service is expected to offer great relief to passengers traveling to and from the coastal region during the festive season.
