Bengaluru: Man allegedly blackmails girl, threatens to leak her pvt videos; Gets arrested

Bengaluru: A painter has been arrested by the Bengaluru Southeast Police for allegedly blackmailing a girl for money and threatening to leak her private videos that he has got from pendrive fallen on the roadside.

Shoaib (22), a resident of Rajendranagar is the accused.

As per the police sources Mumbai based girl, who is a software engineer by profession, residing at a rented house on Begur Road, had lost her pendrive a few days back.

The same pendrive, which was fallen on the roadside was picked by Shoaib the other day.

On checking it, he found private photos and videos, mobile numbers, and WhatsApp documents.

He then sent those photos and videos to the number that he got along with the photo of the pendrive.

As he began chatting with the girl, he demanded Rs. 70,000 to be sent by scanning a QR code that he has created. He also allegedly began mentally torturing the girl over the phone.

Upset by this, the girl filed a complaint with the CEN Police.

Alerted by this, the police arrested the accused.
