Bengaluru: Man arrested for sexually exploiting minors after befriending them on social media

Bengaluru: A 32-year-old man has been arrested after a complaint of sexual harassment was filed by a 17-year-old girl from Byadarahalli in Bengaluru
It is alleged that the accused befriended her on Instagram and then sexually exploited her. He told her that he was preparing for administrative services. However, he had only passed PU.
He lured girls by clicking photos of him in front of posh houses and also claiming that he owned several businesses
The woman said that the man also took monetary favors from her and in no time, their friendship turned into a physical relationship.
The accused identified as Diwakar alias Harsha admitted to luring girls to sexually exploit them since 2016. As many as 8 girls have been cheated by him, yet nobody is ready to lodge a complaint against him.
Byadarahalli police filed the complaint under various sections of the IPC and POCSO Act.
