Bengaluru: A man from Bengaluru allegedly died by suicide at his office after being abused and manhandled by his chit fund investors in public.
The deceased has been identified as Rajanna, who was a resident of Talaghattapura. Rajanna ran a chit fund and was lending money with monthly interest.
After the COVID-19 pandemic, Rajanna’s customer stopped paying him and people who had invested in Rajanna’s chit fund asked him to return their money. Three investors also went to the CCB officials but could not get any help as there was no record of documents.
The three investors then met Rajanna at Talaghattapura and allegedly abused and manhandled him.
Rajanna’s wife claimed he was “depressed” over the incident. Rajanna reportedly left a note mentioning three people pressuring him to return their money and said that he was under financial crisis.
A case of abetment to suicide was registered against the trio.
Suicide is preventable. If you get any such thoughts, consult or seek expert help.
