Bengaluru: Man held for faking identity, breaking traffic rules 42 times

Bengaluru: Police officials have arrested a 58-year-old man who allegedly got away with violating traffic rules by pretending to be the city’s Joint Police Commissioner (Traffic) Dr. BR Ravikanthe Gowda’s fan and posing as an RTI activist.

The accused have been identified as P Girish Babu (58), a resident of Thyagaraja Nagar.  Police traced the accused and confiscated the vehicle.

The man has violated traffic rules 42 times and has been fined Rs 20,200. The accused had also removed his vehicle’s registration number plate and got ‘press’ written.
