Bengaluru: Man offered a job abroad, cheated of Rs 11 lakh in online fraud

Bengaluru: A 48-year-old Bengaluru man was allegedly cheated of Rs 11 lakh by online fraudsters on the pretext of a job abroad.

The victim has been identified as Naresh Kumar, a resident of Bidarahalli in Hoskote.  The fraudsters contacted Naresh Kumar with a job offer over e-mail on February 23.

He was then told to contact a person named Joseph, who asked Naresh to send his passport details, resume and medical certificate. Following this, Naresh transferred Rs 11,10,925 in instalments.

After the man realised that he was duped, he lodged a complaint with the local police.
