Bengaluru: A 48-year-old man on a two-wheeler sustained injuries after a kite thread got entangled around his neck near the Adugodi Traffic Police Station.
The incident occurred at 1.30 pm on Wednesday when Mallikarjun was travelling to a bank on some official work.
He suddenly felt a sharp pain near his neck and realised that the pain was caused by a thread that was cutting into his neck.
As he was unable to stop the two-wheeler immediately, he put his left hand on the string and tried to pull it away which badly injured his two fingers.
He then stopped the vehicle, a few pedestrians saw him bleeding and rushed to a nearby hospital.
Mallikarjun said that as he was riding at a low speed he could pull the string away from his neck, otherwise he would not survive.
Soon after, Arun Prasad, MP candidate from Bangalore Central constituency wrote a letter to the Deputy Conservator of Forests and asked for the enforcement of an already existing ban of such nylon manja.
