Yeshwanthpur BJP MLA ST Somashekar, who has distanced himself from the party, on Thursday, October 24 said that eight BJP MLAs are set to join the Congress party soon.

Addressing presspersons, Somashekar alleged, “BJP used Yogeshwar when needed and is now sidelining him. Yogeshwar was instrumental in forming the BJP government at that time.”

He further lashed out at BJP leader R. Ashoka, saying, “His statements hold no value.”

Somashekar went on to reveal that among the eight MLAs expected to join Congress, two are from Bengaluru. His remarks come at a time when there is growing speculation about possible defections within the BJP ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Both Somashekar and Yellapur MLA Shivaram Hebbar, who had previously rebelled against the party, continue to maintain distance from the BJP, further fueling rumors of internal rifts.
