Bengaluru: Police have arrested a mother-daughter duo for allegedly stealing jewelry and cash from a house in Bengaluru where they were working as maids.
The arrested accused have been identified as Jayanti (45), a resident of Bhakshi Garden and her daughter Sonia(21).
It is said that the duo had approached the complainant Vishal and requested to employ them as maids.
The family had employed them without due diligence and the duo soon gained their trust. However, months later, they decamped with 272 grams of gold jewelry, 997 grams of silver items and Rs 1. 72 lakh from their house when the family members had gone out for work.
Sources claim that the duo was allegedly under police’s radar after they were seen wearing branded clothes and jewelry.
Further investigations are underway.
