Bengaluru: A BMTC Volvo bus conductor was stabbed by a passenger in Whitefield police station limits after a minor altercation on Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred around 7 PM near Vaidehi Hospital Junction close to ITPL, Whitefield. The bus conductor, identified as Yogesh (35), was attacked by Harsh Sinha (25), originally from Jharkhand, with a knife. The accused has been arrested.
Yogesh, who suffered a stab wound to his abdomen, was rushed to a private hospital by fellow passengers. He is currently undergoing treatment and has been declared out of danger.
The altercation began when Harsh Sinha, who boarded the bus at ITPL, stood near the entrance. The conductor asked him to move inside the bus, which enraged Sinha. In a fit of anger, he pulled out a knife and stabbed Yogesh.
The accused, Harsh Sinha, is an ex-employee of a BPO company. It has come to light that Sinha had recently lost his job, which may have contributed to his erratic behavior. The police are conducting further investigations.
