Bengaluru: Pistol found with fmr MLA Anand Asnotikar at airport; detained

Bengaluru: Former Congress MLA from Karwar Anand Asnotikar was taken into custody by police after a pistol was found in his baggage at the airport here.
Asnotikar was to travel from Bengaluru to Goa on Saturday, September 19 at 11 am.
However, after he sent his baggage for checking a pistol was discovered and was detained by police at the Kempegowda International Airport.
According to reports later it was stated that the pistol with him is licensed however, he did not follow the proper procedure for carrying a pistol into the aircraft.
Anand Asnotikar was elected a Congress MLA from the Karwar assembly constituency in 2008. He lost the election from the same seat in 2018 while contesting under JD(S).
