Bengaluru: Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Kamal Pant on Monday launched the facility to enable payment of traffic fines through Paytm.
The facility, which is in addition to other cashless payment methods, is an “effort towards ensuring transparency and contactless enforcement”, Pant tweeted.
Though there is an option to pay the fine via debit or credit card, service charges apply, whereas there are no service charges in the PayTM option.
He further thanked the digital payments platform, adding that it had offered the payment option free of cost.
