Bengaluru police seize drugs worth Rs 37 crore; arrest three accused

‎Bengaluru: Govindapura‎‎ police have arrested three persons for allegedly supplying drugs to celebrities, college students, and businessmen in Bengaluru.‎ Drugs worth Rs 37 crores were confiscated from them including methaqualone, MDMA, tramadol, and Cocaine, police added.

The accused have been identified as Rajeet Bhanu Gupta (24) of Mira Bhayandar Road in Maharashtra, Andran Gomes (59) of Kancheepuram in Tamil Nadu, and S Rajesh (35) of Grant Lyon in Tamil Nadu.

Methaqualone worth Rs 35 crore, MDMA worth Rs 1.18 crore, 300-gram tramadol worth Rs 15 lakh, and 75-gram cocaine worth Rs 7.5 lakhs were seized from their possession, police said.

The raid was conducted at a water tank behind the forest office in the 1st block of HBR layout 5th stage, after receiving a credible tip about drugs being sold there, police said.

A case has been registered against the accused under the NDPS act. Further investigations are underway.
