Bengaluru Police Seize Turkish Lira worth Rs 71 Cr; Arrest 4

Bengaluru: Marathahalli police busted an intercontinental cash racket and took 78 Turkish Lira currency notes having face value of 5,00000 Lira each in Bengaluru on Wednesday, Cops have arrested four persons, Nagaraj, Aravind, Murali and Shivaraj in connection with the case along with a pistol. 

The value of the currency notes seized is estimated at Rs 71 crore. A total of 78 Lira currency notes have been taken into custody and each note has a face value of 91 lakh in Indian currency (500000 Lira).  According to the sources, Lira currency notes reportedly banned and the cash seized may have smuggled from abroad into India. The police department is yet to trace and nab Chinna Reddy, the prime accused in the racket.
