A principal was scammed out of Rs 2.32 lakh by a cybercriminal posing as a bank employee, promising to link the PAN card to the victim’s bank account.
The unsuspecting principal received a fraudulent message that claimed their bank account would be deactivated unless the PAN card was linked.
The message included a link that, when clicked, resulted in a deduction of Rs 2.32 lakh from the principal’s bank account.
Upon discovering the scam, the victim realized they had fallen prey to cyber thieves.
