The wife of a Bengaluru-based bodybuilder, who has been held for alleged rape of a woman training under him, lodged a counter case with Govindapura police against the victim and two other persons accusing them of blackmail.
On April 28, the victim had filed a complaint with the police accusing Syed Siddique H, 34, of raping her several times with the false promise of marriage. In her complaint the victim, who aspires to be a bodybuilder herself said that she had joined the gym, being run by Syed in the month of February. In the initial days of the training, Syed asked her to take steroids for bodybuilding, but she declined.
A few days later i.e. on February 19 Syed made her consume a sedative-laced drink and raped her. He continued to sexually abuse her on the pretext of marriage. When the victim realized that Syed had no intention to fulfill his marriage promise she filed a case against him with the police. Syed was arrested the same day and a court remanded him to judicial custody.
In a counter-complaint, Syed’s wife has accused the victim, the gym manager, and his wife of blackmail by showing the intimate video of the accused and the victim and trying to extort Rs 20 lakh. She alleged that the victim approached the police since the trio was not paid Rs 20 lakh.
Syed’s wife accused the gym manager of recording the intimate video and claimed that his wife was an accomplice in the act.
