Bengaluru: Rider killed in motorbike crash on BGS Flyover

Bengaluru: A bike accident on the down ramp of the BGS flyover on Mysore Road resulted in the death of the rider and serious injuries to the pillion rider early Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Vighnesh (26) from Valmikinagar.
Srinidhi from Kengeri, the pillion rider, sustained serious injuries. He is currently receiving treatment at a hospital and has survived the critical phase.
The accident occurred around 1:30 AM on Sunday when the bike was heading from City Market towards Kengeri on the BGS flyover’s down ramp, according to traffic police. Both Vighnesh and Srinidhi worked at a private company.
The two had dinner at City Market late Saturday night. Around 1:30 AM, they were heading from City Market towards Kengeri on their bike. The accident occurred when they lost control while descending the down ramp of the flyover, causing both to fall onto the road.
Both were taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Vighnesh suffered severe head injuries and excessive bleeding, and he succumbed to his injuries. Srinidhi sustained severe injuries to his hands and legs and continues to receive treatment at the hospital, the traffic police said.
A case has been registered at the Chickpet traffic police station.
