Bengaluru: The service road near Nayandahalli Junction was repaired on Thursday and asphalted on Friday at around 2:30 am as Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) received a complaint regarding potholes.
BBMP Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta tweeted, “The service road near Nayandahalli Junction was repaired yesterday and asphalted today at 2:30 am as BBMP received a complaint regarding the potholes. The road was subsequently opened to traffic again. BBMP has been working nonstop to fill potholes across Bengaluru.”
This comes after a 75-year-old man died after his scooter hit a pothole in Bengaluru. It is said that it was a man-made pot hole dug up for some sanitary pipeline work and left without asphalting.
The water-filled pothole was deep and the moment the front tyre, entered the hole, his vehicle turned upside down and he fell. He was rushed to a hospital but later succumbed to the injuries.
