Bengaluru: Security guard slits flat owner’s throat for objecting to his drinking

Bengaluru: A security guard at an apartment in Bengaluru allegedly murdered a flat owner, who reprimanded him for drinking on duty.
Police have arrested the accused Basanth a native of Nepal in this connection.
The deceased identified as Bhaskar Reddy, 65 had found Basanth in an inebriated state and warned him against drinking while on duty. The guard however did not take Reddy’s warning seriously following which Reddy raised the issue with the association of the apartments.
A verbal altercation had taken place between Reddy and Basanth in this connection.
An enraged Basanth harboured a grudge against Reddy and wanted to settle scores. On Wednesday morning, when Reddy was walking near the parking, Basanth attacked him and slit his throat with a knife.
Though neighbors tried to shift him to hospital, Reddy succumbed to his injuries.
