Bengaluru: Police are investigating a shocking incident where a newborn died after being run over by multiple vehicles when it fell from a garbage truck on Sunday.

The incident reportedly took place in Pampa Layout of Amruthahalli locality in Bengaluru.

According to a report from IANS, the baby, aged between four to five months, was thrown into a BBMP garbage truck before the bag it was wrapped in fell onto the road. The body was disfigured, making it difficult for authorities to determine the child’s gender.

Unaware of the baby’s presence in the bag, several vehicles were reportedly run over it. Members of the public discovered the body and reported the incident to the police.

It is suspected that the culprits may have abandoned the baby to conceal the birth.  An investigation is underway.
