Bengaluru: Bengaluru has witnessed a tremendous growth curve from being called the garden city to Silicon valley of India for its role as the nation’s leading information technology (IT) exporter.

However, this rapid growth resulted in a sharp spike in vehicle population which in turn led to traffic gridlock. The notorious traffic makes it painfully difficult to travel short distances.

But Gastroenterology surgeon Dr Govind Nandakumar who was getting late for his surgery because of the traffic decided to choose action over worry.

Govind decided to abandon his car and ran 3 km to reach the hospital.

The last stretch usually takes 10 mins but due to traffic, Google Maps showed that it will take another 45 minutes.

It is said that Govind had an emergency laparoscopic gallbladder surgery scheduled at Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru’s Sarjapur on August 30.

He reached the hospital on time and the surgery was successful.
