Bengaluru: Teenage boy tries to kill 15-year-old girl for talking to other boys, ignoring him

Bengaluru: A teenage boy tried to kill his 15-year-old friend for talking to other boys and ignoring him in Bengaluru on September 13.
It is said that the girl residing in Jayanagar and the accused were very good friends earlier, they have also been attending the same school.
On Monday, the accused came to the girl’s house while she was alone and attending her e-lectures. He asked her why she was ignoring him and asked her to stop talking to other boys. He also threatened to murder her if she didn’t listen to him.
The accused then pulled out a knife and slashed the girl in the throat before inflicting slash wounds on himself. Later, he attempted to drink toilet cleaner and even asked the girl to consume it.
However, soon after, the accused began panicking and dialled his uncle. His uncle came rushing to the spot and admitted them to a nearby private hospital.
The accused’s uncle then informed the girl’s parents about the incident. The hospital filed a medico-legal case and informed the local police. Both are said to be out of danger now,
After recording the girl’s statement, the accused was charged with assault, attempt to murder and criminal trespassing. Relevant charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act have also been invoked against him.
