Bengaluru: Three men assault, rob youth; Arrested

Bengaluru: Police officials have arrested three persons for assaulting and robbing a youth in Devanahalli, Bengaluru.
The arrested accused have been identified as Anil Kumar (22), Subrahmani (19) and Pawan Kumar (24), residents of Devanahalli.
It is said that the victim Kiran went on a date with his girlfriend on June 8. After finishing dinner, the duo was on their way to Bengaluru from Devanahalli.
Kiran then stopped the bike in Devanahalli bypass to urinate. The miscreants hit Kiran’s left leg with an iron rod and snatched his gold chain.
Later, they demanded money from him by threatening to kill his girlfriend. Kiran claimed that as he does not have cash with him he would withdraw money from the nearby ATM.
Kiran along with the accused went to an ATM near Vijayapura cross and gave them Rs 15,000 cash.
The accused then fled from the spot.
