Bengaluru police have arrested television actor Charith Balappa following allegations of sexual harassment.
Charith, known for his roles in Kannada serials like *Muddu Lakshmi* and several Telugu soap operas, was taken into custody by RR Nagar police.
According to reports, the actor allegedly harassed a woman he was acquainted with, pressuring her for a physical relationship under the pretense of love. The victim claimed that Charith entered her residence and subjected her to harassment.
In her complaint, the woman also alleged that Charith demanded money from her and threatened to release private photos and videos if she failed to comply.
Charges against Charith include sexual harassment, assault, and making threats to kill. The investigation revealed that Charith, who was previously married and later divorced, had ongoing disputes with his ex-wife. She, too, had lodged complaints against him in the past.
In June, a complaint was registered at Sarjapur police station after Charith allegedly intimidated his ex-wife over alimony-related issues.
Police are currently conducting further investigations into the allegations.
