Bengaluru: UK job fraud; Man loses Rs 40 lakh

Bengaluru: A man in Bengaluru was cheated to the tune of Rs 40 lakh by a fraudster, who promised him a job in the United Kingdom.
The victim has been identified as Nagappa (61) a resident of Timber garden, Mysuru road.
As per the complaint, Nagappa was in search of a job in the UK and registered himself on a website. Soon after, he received a call from a stranger who offered a job for him and his son in the UK.
Nagappa and his son sent their details and were asked to deposit Rs 40 lakh for visa procedures.
On September 17, the fraudsters asked Nagappa to go to Mumbai and Delhi for further procedures. On arriving in Delhi, the accused claimed that their visas will be issued on September 27.
Nagappa became suspicious and enquired in an embassy in Bengaluru. Following this, a case was registered.
