In a bizarre incident, a woman in Bengaluru staged the theft of gold jewelry and a scooter to teach her unemployed husband a lesson.

Police officials have now arrested two individuals Dhanraj and Rakesh in connection with the incident. Police also confiscated assets including 109 grams of gold and two motorcycles used in the theft.

The mastermind behind this plan was a wife who grew increasingly frustrated with her husband’s lack of employment. Seeking a solution, she hatched a plan to steal gold jewelry and a two-wheeler in the hopes that this ruse would spur her husband into action. Enlisting the help of associates Dhanraj and Rakesh, she orchestrated a sequence of events that ultimately led to their apprehension.

The wife’s intricate plan commenced with a claim that she had withdrawn 109 grams of gold, previously safeguarded in a bank, and concealed it in the scooter. Strategically, she parked the scooter on 13th Cross and kept the key beneath the vehicle’s floor mat. Communicating the location via WhatsApp to her accomplice, Dhananjay, she awaited the theft.

Subsequently, Dhananjay, accompanied by Rakesh, acted according to the woman’s instructions and absconded with the scooter. She then frantically informed her husband of the purported theft, adding a sense of urgency to her narrative. She then reported the incident to Malleshwaram police, alleging that the scooter had been stolen while she was on a stroll. Additionally, she divulged information regarding the gold concealed within the scooter.

Upon launching an investigation, law enforcement officials scrutinized CCTV footage, revealing Dhananjay and Rakesh’s involvement in the orchestrated theft. During subsequent questioning, the two suspects admitted that their actions were in compliance with the woman’s directives.

A case has been registered.
