Bengaluru: A 35-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly burning her nine-year-old daughter’s hand with a candle for going to play at a neighbor’s house.
The woman apparently told the police that she did not burn her hand but “only hit her daughter with a log”. The incident that took place in June, came to light on Monday, July 5 when the girl was shifted to a hospital in Hebbal with injuries on her right hand.
It is said that the girl was playing at a neighbor’s house when her mother had gone out for work. When she returned, her mother took her home, hit her with a wooden log, and later burnt her right hand with a candle.
On Monday, while playing, she fell down and sustained injuries on the same hand, her mother then took her to the hospital.
The woman claimed she got frustrated because the neighbor always spoke ill of her, the police said.
