Bengaluru: Woman cheated of Rs 8.35 Lakh in part-time job scam

A woman in Bengaluru fell victim to cyber fraud when she was offered a part-time job opportunity bu scammers.
The victim has been identified as Lina (43) residing in Vajarahalli.
The scam unfolded when Lina received a message from an unknown number, prompting her to click on a link. The fraudster claimed to have sent Rs 203 to gain her trust.
Subsequently, the scammer directed Lina to connect via a Telegram ID. Upon joining a Telegram group, the fraudster persuaded Lina to invest money, promising good returns.
Lina transferred a staggering Rs 8.35 lakh to the provided bank account after which she lost contact with the fraudster.
